CTET Cut Off 2026: Passing Marks and Previous Results

The CTET cut off is not a ranking cut-off. CTET is a qualifying test, so the "cut off" simply means the minimum passing marks you need to earn the CTET certificate. The general standard is 60%, or 90 out of 150. For the current session, the exam is scheduled for 12 and 13 December 2026.

CTET Passing Marks 2026

CBSE sets 60% as the qualifying standard. Schools and recruiting authorities, including central and state government bodies, may give concessions to reserved categories under their own reservation policy. Many accept 55% (82 out of 150).

Previous Result: CTET February 2026

According to CBSE's official notice, the February 2026 exam was held on 7 and 8 February 2026, and the result was declared on 30 March 2026.

Only about one in four candidates qualified overall, and fewer than one in five qualified in Paper II. Reaching 90 marks is harder than it looks.

Does the CTET Cut Off Change Every Session?

No. The passing marks stay fixed at 60% for the general category. What changes from session to session is the difficulty of the paper, which affects how many candidates manage to reach that mark.

What Score Should You Aim For?

• Minimum target: 90 out of 150 (60%) to qualify.

• Safe target: 100 or more, to allow for tricky questions and marking slips on the OMR sheet.

• Why aim higher: Some recruiters give weightage to CTET scores, so a higher score can help you later in teacher recruitment.
