GOC(electronic displacement effects)
Course Curriculum
- Lecture 01Preview35m
- Lecture 0215m
- Lecture 0316m
Description
Course Overview
A focused course on the electronic displacement effects of General Organic Chemistry (GOC). These effects explain the stability of carbocations, carbanions and free radicals, the strength of acids and bases, and the course of most organic reactions, so a clear grip on them makes the rest of organic chemistry much easier.
What You'll Learn
Resonance effect (mesomeric effect): resonance structures, +R and -R groups and resonance stability
Hyperconjugation: how it works and how it stabilises carbocations, free radicals and alkenes
Inductive effect: +I and -I groups and their effect on acidity, basicity and stability
Course Content
3 video lectures, one for each effect, about 1 hour in total
One lecture is free to preview
Who is this for?
Class 11 and 12 students starting organic chemistry
JEE and NEET aspirants who want to strengthen their GOC basics
